Several years ago, bmxultra.com started developing a gear chart and calculator tailored for BMX enthusiasts to utilize online, ensuring accessibility from any location with an internet connection and a web browser. Over time, these tools have evolved significantly. The current gear calculator generates an interactive gear chart that, despite its intricate nature, is incredibly user-friendly. Beyond simplicity, it provides precise roll-out measurements for popular tires like the Tioga PowerBlock and others.

We take immense pride in the product we have created and its widespread adoption, as we frequently rely on it ourselves. Addressing challenges faced at certain tracks with slow mobile internet speeds hindering the ease of the gear calculator, we are delighted to introduce our inaugural iPhone/iPad application: the BMX Gear Calculator.

The BMX Gear Calculator app is purpose-built for BMX enthusiasts and guarantees functionality anywhere, at any time without the need for an internet connection.
It allows users to compare multiple gears through a straightforward chart displayed on a single screen.
Included within the app are an array of tires such as Tioga PowerBlock, ITS Micro Knobby MK2, Maxxis DTH, Alienation TCS R1, Kenda Konversion, VeeRubber Speedster, MK3 Foldable tires, IRC Siren, Arisun XLR8 Foldable, among others.

If your specific tire model is not listed, users have two alternatives:

Choose from generic sizes such as 16×1.75, 18×1.75, 20×1 1/8, 20×1 3/8, 20×1.50, 20×1.75, 24×1 1/8, 24×1 3/8, and 24×1.75.
Opt for a custom size by measuring the outer diameter of your rear wheel to determine the rollout accordingly.
